Effective & Safe
Online Session Info
Online sessions are safe and effective; they offer you the support you need from the comfort of your own space, no matter where you are in the world! They can be more comfortable for you in many ways, save travel time, and reduce face-to-face contact.
I run psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, individual, and group supervision sessions online.
There’s robust and growing research supporting the effectiveness of online sessions, which for some individuals, may even surpass traditional face-to-face therapy. You might find my blog post “Researching the effectiveness of online therapy” helpful, where I delve deeper into this topic.
Setting yourself up online
I use ‘Microsoft Teams’, this encrypts conversations to ensure your privacy. When we book your session, you will receive the link for the session in an email. There’s a helpful video here on how to join a teams meeting.
Please run a test call before you appointment to check your settings and internet stability before the session, and please reach out for help if you need it.
Comfort and Privacy
Find yourself somewhere comfortable, private and uninterrupted to set up your session; maybe with something you can rest your head back onto if we use relaxation or hypnosis.
It is recommended that you only use a private computer and not a phone, work or public computer to ensure your privacy
Turn your phone to silent, and turn any off assistants on your phone (eg Siri) or in your room (Alexa etc).
Under 18s
Young people must be accompanied on screen by an adult at all times -that means the adult must be somewhere on screen while the session is happening.
International Clients
I am based in the UK and am therefore governed by UK jurisdiction. You will need to confirm you understand and agree to this.
Your location and safety
If you are not in the location you have indicated on your intake form, please let me know where you are. In certain situations this may be easier by sending me a google map pin or ‘What three words’. In this situation, I will ask you for an contact name and number in case I need to get someone to you in an emergency
